Dancers and choirs from all around the world will perform at the opening concert. ”Bridge Across Times” is a pro-Estonian folk-party where a popular repertoire of song festival favorites will be sung together and where our folk-dances and national costumes can be seen.
For the first time in its long history ESTO arrives in Finland – a country where almost 70 000 Estonians reside (according to data provided by the Statistical Office in October 2018). In comparison to more active Estonian communities around the world, those living in Finland have kept themselves more or less to themselves up to now. Now, with the ESTO 2019 opening concert being organized in Helsinki, it is high time to step forward!
The subject of ESTO 2019 is “Our Future”. Thus, we would like to be visible as Estonians abroad, make our culture more known, and find partners for cooperation as well as new members to the groups that will be performing at the concert.
